Keep Shelly in Athens, a mysterious duo from -you guessed- Athens, Greece, from whom we don’t know much, are a downtempo electronica act that make music that sounds and feels just like the title of their debut EP, “In Love With Dusk“.

But more than being in love with dusk, it feels like making love to dusk itself, or making love under the dim light of dusk or something derivative of dusk and love, however you want to combine those two elements.

Anyways, Keep Shelly in Athens is a new member of the Forest Family records and it is a must listen for those who enjoy an eclectic loungy chillout sound. At times it may feel like a combination of Air, Portishead and a Buddha Bar record at once, with a thin layer of semi-erotic brushstrokes on top. “Running out on you” serves as the main piece, defining the palette of sounds that the album will cover with each song working on each style more thoroughly.

In Love with Dusk” is one of the few EPs this year in which title and cover art perfectly complement the sound. Take a listen to some of the songs on the EP below and comment with your thoughts.

As of right now people all over the world are gathering with relatives and loved ones to celebrate Christmas!

Today we found a list of indie rockers who released Christmas songs just for you, so if by any chance you don’t have your playlist ready for tomorrow’s dinner now’s your time to head on over here and grab the latest… be sure to check out:

Beach House, Best Coast & Wavves, The Boy Least Likely To, Deerhunter, Tegan and Sara, and finally Summer Camp! Cause they all have great songs for this Christmas!

Enjoy and have a great holiday!

I think Coma Cinema‘s Stoned Alone is probably one of the most overlooked albums of 2010. It hardly even got coverage, which is surprising due to its high quality tracks and overall neatness. Let’s say it’s that great sunday-afternoon album. You can sit back, relax, imagine, re-imagine, lower the lights, up the volume and let it wrap your mind. Even though it has short and very simple songs, Stoned Alone is unique and powerful, honest and different than most of the music that is trending. With a certain sixties psychedelic vibe attached to it, the music sounds fresh and new, carrying various pop gems under its sleeve. Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina (the place that brought you chillwave masters Toro y Moi and Washed Out) Coma Cinema is Mat Cothran, and he offers his music for free. I highly recommend you check out this album as well as its predecessor Baby Prayers available through his website if you click here (it’s free, no excuses).

I already have the follow-up Blue Suicide, on my list of most awaited albums of 2011. There is a preview track for it on the playlist, “Business as Usual”. Enjoy!

Plus: Mat Cothran listed his favorite tracks of the year:

1. Wye Oak – I Hope You Die
2. Girls – Substance
3. CEO – Come With Me
4. Julian Lynch – Just Enough
5. MGMT – Siberian Breaks
6. Yeasayer – Odd Blood
7. Frog Eyes – Flower in a Glove
8. Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti – Round and Round

Well yeah, sometimes picking the 25 Best Albums of the year is not that easy, hence we decided to pick 27. Below the list of our Best Albums in 2010! Click on the name of each album to listen to it!

It’s been one hell of a year for english folk rock band Mumford and Sons who released their first studio album “Sigh no More” back in 2009.. from a scene that has spawn artists like Noah and the Whale, Laura Marling and more, Mumford and Sons have been able to captivate people all over the world little by little, practically touring all over the world all year long, from the UK to Lollapalooza adding fans to their sound.

Most of the bands succes is thanks to Marcus Mumford, lead singer whom also plays guitar, drums and the mandolin… I had the oportunnity on watching them live at this years Lollapalooza and let me tell you they sound ever better live than on the album, and here below is a video to prove it. Filmed on Rolling Stone playing “Timshel” (one of our favorites) & “Sister” (from their second EP).
