The documentary film “Shut Up And Play The Hits” will premiere on Sunday January 22nd at the Sundance Film Festival. It follows LCD Soundsystem‘s frontman James Murphy on the days leading up to his farewell concert and definite break-up. It contains intimate interviews and concert footage. A documentary you shouldn’t miss, check out the trailer below and visit the film’s website for more.

Many of us didn’t have the opportunity to witness LCD Soundsystem’s final gig at Madison Square Garden this past Saturday night. But many of you still had the chance to watch the live stream over at Pitchfork. Still you may want to watch it over and over again, before they release an official DVD which I’m sure won’t take long, but before that happens check out the complete show on the video below:

Their last show featured surprise guests like Arcade Fire, Shit Robot and openers Liquid Liquid plus one hell of a crowd! Be patient with the video it may take some time to load.

As part of the A.V. Club’s list of 25 covers to be made by different artists we can now watch Baths cover the insane LCD Soundystem original All My Friends from the album “Sound of Silver”. In this version Will Wiesenfeld with the help of tour mate Dexter from the band Houses manage to strip down the song to it’s very core and leave us a melancholic romantic anthem. The opposite of the first cover in this sessions made by Iron and Wine to George Michael’s One More Try which you can check out here.

It’s been a couple of weeks since James Murphy claimed he was no longer going to perform or record under the name of LCD Soundsystems…… Yes, it’s such a shame, but hey, the guy must have his reasons, plus he left us their best album to make it thru. In these two videos we can see it didn’t take long for Kermit the frog to step up.

Filmed on a balcony in Brighton, directed by Javier Douglas: “Dance Yrself Clean” from their album This is Happening!

This was the first video of Kermit impersonating James Murphy on “New York I love You, but you’re Bringing me Down” from their album Sound of Silver!
